Mindfulness Matters at Direct Mortgage Loans! To help encourage mental health awareness, we focused on different areas of mental health each week throughout the month of May!

Week 1: Taking Time to Learn about Mental Health

  • Our first Guest Speaker, Juan Muniz, spoke LIVE from The Las Vegas Team’s office with Maribel Nieto. This virtual event focused on discussing the stigma of mental health with youth and young adults.

  • Rachel Drunkenmiller, our second Guest Speaker of the week, hosted a virtual presentation on Mind Reset which focused on taking back control of your mind in times of stress, fear, and anxiety!

Week 2: Taking Time for Your Emotional Health

The second week of Mindfulness Matters focused on emotional health; everyone was encouraged to take an hour to focus on something they enjoyed. (ex. gardening, taking a hike, or reading a book) Anyone who participated was asked to submit a photo to be entered to win a gift card. The Marketing Team took a trip to Hershey Park to ride rollercoasters and enjoyed some sweet treats!

Week 3: Taking Time for Your Physical Health

With many of our team members working remotely, it’s important to take time for our physical health and get our bodies moving. Dr. Karyn Staples, PT, PhD, NCPT of ProHealth Physical Therapy at Pilates Studio hosted TWO free virtual pilates sessions!

Week 4: Taking Time for Your Social-Emotional Health

The last week of May focused on paying it forward by taking some time to make someone else smile. This could be as simple as buying the person in line a cup of coffee or sending your co-worker a nice message!
