Direct Mortgage Loans recently wrapped up its third annual DML Fest, a three-day event dedicated to collaboration, learning, and connecting team members from across the country. The event was packed with unforgettable moments, laughter, and inspiration. Let’s take a look back at the festivities!
Day 1: A Day of Service and Celebration
The first day of DML Fest kicked off by welcoming attendees and giving back to the community. Team members volunteered at two incredible local organizations: the Ruth M. Kirk Recreation Center and the Baltimore Hunger Project. Together, they cleared the community garden, painted and cleaned the Recreation Center’s facilities, and packed lunches while writing notes of encouragement for the Baltimore Hunger Project.
After the fulfilling day of service, everyone returned to the corporate office to enjoy some well-deserved fun. The day ended with mini-golf and delicious pizza from Brookside Market!
Day 2: Day of Learning
The second day began with a hearty breakfast, featuring omelets made by members of the leadership team, including Chris Naylor, Dean Johnson, and Jan Ozga. This delicious start set the tone for a day focused on learning and professional development.
Throughout the day, team members participated in various training sessions, including a company-wide sales panel where mortgage originators shared their top-performing strategies.
The day of learning concluded with an inspiring speech from Chief Strategy Officer, Jan Ozga, followed by the September and 3rd Quarter Recognition Meeting with co-founders Mike Naylor and Ashley Mills. The evening continued with live country music, mechanical bull rides, and a dinner from Mission Barbecue.
Day 3: Field Day & Crab Feast
The third and final day began with a Coffee Truck to energize everyone for the exciting day ahead. Keynote speaker Michael Bryant, a corporate consultant, endurance athlete, and seven-time Ironman triathlon finisher, shared his insights as a professional “unstucker,” specializing in helping people overcome obstacles.
After Michael’s talk, everyone headed to Baltimore Peninsula for the DML Field Day, packed with outdoor games and activities like pickleball, cornhole, volleyball, bocce, kickball, and relay races. The festivities concluded at Nick’s Fish House with a crab feast, where local Marylanders provided a crab-picking demonstration!
