What attracted you to Direct Mortgage Loans, and why do you enjoy working here? 

The leadership. My first meeting with DML I had the privilege of sitting down with the company’s leaders. During this meeting I noticed two things. First, there were a lot of smart people in this room. Second, they all respected and appreciated one another. This respect sweeps through the company as all employees at DML are respected and appreciated. 1 year in, and I am still in the honeymoon stage. From our sales team to operations, everyone remains on the same page and wants to not only help with the task at hand but also help you grow. 

Can you describe a memorable experience or achievement you’ve had while working here? 

We have had a lot of wins at DML over the past year. The thing that stands out to me during each win is how much fun I am having. I am lucky to be surrounded by industry leaders who are focused on helping me grow. 

How does Direct Mortgage Loans support your professional development and goals? 

The professional development has been fantastic at DML. Since joining, I feel as if I am on a fast track for growth. I have learned to be clear with my goals and set a path to achieve them. My mentors around me not only hold me accountable, but make sure I stay focused on the short term and long term plan. I have never had a team so devoted to helping me grow; it is a fantastic feeling.

What do you appreciate most about the work-life balance at Direct Mortgage Loans? 

Family First. Some companies say it, but this company actually means it. From sales to operations, each employee knows that the most important thing in life is your family. It’s an awesome thing when someone is dealing with a personal issue to see coworkers jump in to support. 

It’s also important to note family is always invited to work happy hours/events. It has been awesome meeting coworkers’ families and building lifelong relationships 

Can you share a personal story about how Direct Mortgage Loans has supported you during a challenging time? 

I was overwhelmed when I announced that my wife and I are having our first child and how many people at DML reached out. Not only did they reach out initially, but they continue to ask how my wife, Becky, is feeling. That has meant so much to me. Anna, our Director of Marketing even surprised us with a DML baby onesie which was extremely thoughtful.

I think the monthly recognition calls are such an awesome thing. I think the small incentives they give during these calls go a long way.

Group think. DML knows they have a lot of smart and talented individuals at the company and really rely on everyone to contribute to the tough conversations. 

Can you describe the company’s approach to training and development, especially in light of changing market conditions?  

This was something that really impressed me when joining DML. From on-boarding training to continued learning, DML is very organized and prepared. They do a fantastic job diagnosing what trainings loan officers and processors need and make the resources available. This is all because they are boots on the ground and have dedicated feedback sessions where they really listen to their employees. 

How does Direct Mortgage Loans ensure that employees have the necessary tools and technology to succeed in their roles? 

The leaders have boots on the ground! This is rare for a company to have the executives in the loop with the loan officers/processors. They truly listen to potential struggles we may have and make sure there is a plan in place to execute a solution.
