Halloween is a magical time of year for both children and adults, which is why it’s important to keep your home and children safe. Check out our Halloween Safety Tips for Homeowners and Trick-Or-Treaters!

LED’s Instead of Candles: Substitute candles in your pumpkin for LEDs or battery-operated candles to prevent fire hazards. These are much safer alternatives and look just like the real thing!

Outdoor Lights: Make sure your home is well lit to ensure trick-or-treaters can easily see the path to your door. If you will not be home, turn off your lights to prevent others from approaching your property.

Keep Pets in Inside: Halloween can be a frightful time for pets due to the commotion that comes along with the holiday. Keep your furry friend(s) indoors and calm to protect them and trick-or-treaters!

Alternative Activities: If you’re looking to stay in the comfort of your own home this Halloween, celebrate by hosting a movie night, drive-by Halloween event, or a candy scavenger hunt!

If you do decide to go trick-or-treating this Halloween, make sure you to follow these Halloween safety tips to ensure a safe and fun Holiday!

Plan a Route Nearby: Plan a route in advance that is close to home, or in a familiar area. This will protect both parents and children. Always stick together in large groups if possible. If your child is trick-or-treating without you, attach their name, address, and phone number to their clothes!

Put Electronics Down: Keep all electronics away and get rid of any distractions so you can you concentrate on your surroundings. Make sure to cross the street at corners and check both ways before crossing the street.

Check Candy: Always check candy before you or your child consumes it by closely examining it for signs of tampering. Remove any choking hazards.
