HR Manager, Paige Boughan joined Direct Mortgage Loans in 2020 and has been in the mortgage industry for around two years. When asked what she loves about the mortgage industry, Paige states, “the last couple of years have been very fast moving, which has felt new and exciting to my previous industry.” Since joining, she has helped expand DML’s employee footprint by increasing the number of remote workers during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Specifically, in 2019, Direct Mortgage Loans employed 27 remote workers and employees living in 11 states. In 2021, DML ended the year with 114 remote workers and employees living in 27 states. Paige did an incredible job stepping up when the industry went through record low-interest rates. She was able to rise to the occasion and tap into new and improved tools and processes to make remote work a success!  

In 2021 Paige helped improve the virtual onboarding experience for new hires. She states, “we give our new hires multiple opportunities to provide feedback over the course of three months (and beyond). It’s rewarding to hear that they feel taken care of and supported early on, a testament to HR’s teamwork with those other departments since it takes a village to make the virtual onboarding so successful!”   

Outside of work, Paige supports charities that her close family and friends support through volunteering efforts. Recently, she donated to a good friend’s Best Buddies Friendship Walk in Bethesda, Maryland. Furthermore, she also enjoys volunteering in person for the Special Olympics of Carroll County.   

Through her national SHRM membership, and local chapter affiliation, Paige has developed professionally through her volunteer leadership on the Maryland State Council Board of Directors and her local chapter’s board. Her volunteer roles have provided her with multiple opportunities to meet with state and federal legislators, make connections, and discuss workplace policy. She states, “to be a part of the larger Human Resource community is very rewarding.” Paige is a leader in the community and loves that she can help HR professionals and managers at all levels by providing relevant programming to advance, support, and educate HR professionals.
